About The Book

Fifteen-year-old Jaida is trying to navigate life after the accidental snowboarding death of her older brother. The longer he’s gone, the more she shrinks into herself, pushing away anyone who tries to help. She spends her days watching the clouds, thinking about her brother and pondering the strange voicemail he left on her phone the day he died. In a last ditch effort, her parents send her two thousand miles away to her grandparents’ ranch, where she and her brother used to love spending time. She meets a boy named Gray that seems different than others she’s known. He has an outlook on life that intrigues her. The two develop a friendship, and Jaida starts opening up to him, slowly tearing down the wall she’s built around herself the last few months. Over the summer, they learn they are more connected than they think. Will Jaida finally find peace and hope?
