"This is mirrored brilliantly by the illustrations, particularly by the ingenious use of the space on the page. Kate Hindley is a newcomer in the picture book world but definitely one to watch. Her style is sleek and child-friendly, with plenty of detail throughout, and she uses a beautiful palette of colours which is enhanced by the use of mat paper, to wonderful effect."
