About The Book

For fans of Gillian Flynn and Jodi Picoult, a novel about female fight and flight, and reclaiming our lives through female friendship.

Accused of killing her unborn child, abandoned by everyone who should protect her, Samantha Winston vanishes into the American West—and discovers an underground of women who know exactly how to fight back.

Samantha has the life she’s designed: a fashion career, a wealthy husband, a pregnancy she wanted. Then she loses her baby on a New York runway—a miscarriage which, under new reproductive health laws, is considered a crime. The state charges her with murder. Her husband’s family erases her. The internet wants her dead.

So she disappears. Reinventing herself as Annie Ford, she flees to Wind River, Washington—a cash-only town with no digital footprint and no questions asked. But Wind River is more than a hiding place. Its women run an underground network defending those criminalized for pregnancy. And they’ve been waiting for someone like her.

For readers of The Handmaid's Tale and Gone GirlBurn the Witch is a propulsive feminist thriller about reproductive freedom, female solidarity, and what it takes to reclaim your name when the world wants you silenced.
