Introduction to the Sirian Starseed Tarot

No one knows with any certainty when the tarot first appeared in history, as it had to be hidden in secret parlor rooms for its heretical underpinnings at a time when the rigid religious authority condemned anything even remotely resembling the occult. It is believed to have first appeared in Europe during the Dark Ages, but from that darkness no written record has ever emerged.

Centuries later, in the new light of the Renaissance, the tarot appeared in game rooms of the nobility and European royal courts. It was always disguised in acceptable iconography of those times (still today depicted throughout the deck). Most often it was utilized in card games or as superfluous entertainment, concealing its true wisdom from all those who were unwilling to even consider its archetypal “activation” codes and embedded meanings.

Even today, most tarot decks revolve around the kingdoms of feudal kings and queens, princes and princesses, and outdated authority figures who no longer hold power in our contemporary societies. The universal significance of those time-worn archetypes notwithstanding, I believe the hour has arrived for a new approach to this incredible tool of self-mastery and discovery—and yes, even divination.

Honoring the wisdom of what has for centuries been portrayed in the tarot pantheon, my intention in creating the Sirian Starseed Tarot was to abandon the constraints of past authority structures and the icons of their influence and instead bring to light new perspectives on its theater of characters—and the energies they represent. I wanted to illuminate the Starseed’s journey through physical reality—at a time when we have begun to recognize that we are born to the Earth as Starseed from beyond—and back to the light, where we will consciously return, in that immortal cycle of souls reincarnating and climbing the spiral of light. I wanted to address the questions that face us now, as we move through the Great Shift of Ages, and begin to remember who we truly are.

Drawing upon the timeless wisdom and multidimensional awareness of the Sirian High Council, who have shown us the way of our own ascension, I sought the artist who would help me weave the tapestry of this passage, honoring the essential elements of classic tarot alongside the power and beauty I access through my psychic eye. I found this artist in the talented visionary Alysa Reese, my partner for this project and a true Starseed sister. In joining me to co-create the Sirian Starseed Tarot—a tool for higher consciousness and soul awakening—she has poured her love and dedication into the vibrations of light that emanate through these cards, from the collective Oversoul of Sirian Light Beings, through both our souls and into yours.

Our process has been an extraordinary passage. Each key presented here has been carved from a mountain of experience we both bring to the adventure and the challenge of redesigning the tarot into its rightful place as a new Starseed tool of awakening. Honoring the wisdom that is held within those parameters of the past, we bring you our new vision to be explored and held sacred.

Many of the background images utilized are photographs I have taken in sacred sites around the world; others are spirit faces and beings that simply materialized in the scenes of our design as we created them—as if the elemental beings and the spirits simply rearranged the pixels of our artistic palette and directly inserted themselves into the unfolding world of possibilities that we present to you here. Look into the clouds and the backgrounds of the cards, and often you will find spirits that have nested there on their own—showing us, time and time again, how spirit manifests in form.

Unquestionably, our process has been filled with magic and wonder—an experience we hope will fill your hearts as well. We hope these cards will speak to you at that deep level we all know as wisdom unfolding.

What Is a Starseed?

The idea that we are children of the stars is as old as time itself. It is as seed of other star systems, other galaxies—other universes entirely, perhaps—that we have chosen this tiny blue sphere, Earth (located in a distant quadrant from the center of our own Milky Way galaxy), to be birthed this time around. We have come not only to continue our journey of learning, as we work through the karmic nodes of our many lifetimes, but also to bring more light into the density of the realm, a world of dualities: love and fear, joy and suffering, wisdom and ignorance.

What an exciting time it is to be here, to have chosen this world in transition as our next step up the stairway of infinite return. We are co-creators of all reality, coming in as light, sparks of divinity, keepers of ancient wisdom, and explorers of an awakening knowing that the Akashic Record holds all the knowledge and every single experience ever conceived in the Cosmos of Soul. Carrying in our seed the codes of countless other worlds, we inseminate the goddess Earth, Gaia, with the eternal experience of all life in the universe. In our sharing, we contribute to the collective experience: our galactic heritage.

As Starseed, we set out on this journey from light to density by encountering ourselves in the archetypes of these arcane keys of self-discovery and revelation. Where does this journey take us and to what end? Who do we encounter along the way and why? How do we see our own reflections in the shadow, and what great lessons are there to be made to shine in the light of our illumination?

The tarot is as exquisite a tool of self-discovery as it is a vehicle of divination. Its powerful images stimulate the subconscious as they activate the pineal gland—the lighthouse of our conscious awareness. Through these images, we learn the tools that this world provides us as Starseed children manifest in form. Subtly, we are guided to work with them for the highest good—for ourselves and for those who ask to be shown the way. We peer into the darkness, as we gaze back at the stars, always remembering that we are Starseed awakening. Every step along the spiral of light brings us closer to home—to Source, the Godlight, from which we leap into the abyss and plunge into the density of the physical world—to rise again, at the end of the cycle of life, like the Phoenix.

Pioneers, we hold in our hands a visual depiction of our immortal journey; these images draw upon the traditions of the past to breathe a new perspective into the sacred wisdom of masters who have come before us.
