A life-long resident of Pensacola, Florida, John Melvin's passion for history is manifest in his educational and professional endeavors. He received undergraduate degrees in history and philosophy and a graduate degree in history from the University of West Florida. After teaching early American history at Pensacola State College as an adjunct professor, John settled into a career as an instructional system designer in which he creates web-based training for the United States government. Nevertheless, John considers himself first and foremost an historian. Pouring A Round Of Pensacola's Past is his debut book.
